"An integrated strategy is necessary when there is interdependence or overlap among any sub-initiatives or interdependence between one effort and any others occurring in the organization."

STRATEGY - Is it Part of Your Plans for Change, or Just an Important Sounding Buzz Word?

strat·e·gy - an elaborate and systemic plan of action designed
to achieve a particular goal

Every organized group of individuals working towards a common goal has a strategy - a plan of action designed to help achieve their particular goal including, sports teams, sections of the military, governments, and organizations. Even my husband and I have a strategy for how to fit in work, swimming lessons, karate lessons, second-grade homework, kindergarten readers, dog walking, three meals, baths, and exercise - and this is just one day of the week!

Is it unreasonable then to suggest that in order for change efforts to be successful, leaders MUST begin with an elaborate and systemic change strategy? Your favorite football team would not run down the tunnel without it, your organizations would not proceed in business without it, and your changes MUST NOT begin without it either.

In this October edition of Results from Change, we are discussing change strategy – what it is, why it is important, and how to do it.  As you read the feature article, ask yourself….Is strategy part of your plans for change, or just an important sounding buzz word within your organization?
